What I am reflecting?
This week, I unexpectedly stumbled upon the incredible work of Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer—two wise and inspiring individuals who share goodness with the world. In particular, I’ve been listening to their podcast, Living Beyond Miracles.
One of the concepts that really stood out to me is about selling. I once heard someone say, “In life, you’re either selling or buying”—and this starts from a very young age.
Take my son as an example. As a father, I try to teach him to behave well and be a good person. In doing so, I’m essentially selling him a way of living. And when he listens and accepts it, he becomes the buyer of that idea.
But there are other times when he resists—like when he screams and refuses to clean up his toys. In that moment, he’s selling his own version of how things should be. He’s trying to convince me to accept his way. So now, he’s the seller, and I have to decide: do I give in and buy his idea? ** Mostly I don’t 🙂
This simple example shows how life is a constant exchange—we’re either a BUY or SELL.
Now, back to what I learned from Deepak Chopra. One insight that really struck me and has stayed with me is this: many people may be selling the same thing—the same product, the same service, the same job function.
Take me, for example. As an engineer helping to enable customer solutions, what makes me different from others doing the same work? Why would a customer choose to work with me over someone else?
The answer is this: I’m not just selling my service or product. I’m also selling my passion and love for what I do. In all my action, seem like the passion shows; in my writing, my testing of our solution, and the perfection for how it is being delivered.
And that’s profound. Bringing passion and love into what you offer doesn’t just create value for the customer—it creates value for you. It brings fulfillment. It’s a win-win. Your energy becomes your added value.
So I’ll leave you with this question:
What passion and love do you have that the world needs?
You are a unique human being. And you have something truly special to offer.
Quote I’m pondering
“The future will be better than you expect it to be. It always has been. You would not have been here if your present matched your past fears, would you?”
