One thing I’m relearning is the power of intention. It comes in another form too: “Perception is Projection.”
Here’s an image that comes to mind: Remember those times when you could sense danger, like when your dad was in a bad mood? You just knew something wasn’t right or that something bad might happen.
That was your dad’s internal perception being projected outward. It wasn’t just his appearance—you could sense it in the environment.
This applies to what we carry within ourselves. We often have specific perceptions like “I’m not good enough,” “I cannot do it,” or “I’m so afraid of my director.”
Without realizing it, these perceptions shape our actions. We say the wrong things. We attract the wrong people. We exhibit behaviors that don’t serve us. When we’re fearful, it’s not really about the environment or other people—it’s about fearing the consequences of not being good enough.
But I’m done with not feeling enough. I know that by shifting my perception, the future will naturally become better. I experienced this just yesterday—by staying calm and composed, focusing on being a better dad, my son opened up and we had a great time together.
Now, I’m mindful of my perceptions and projections.
