What I am reflecting?
I’ve been thinking about the power of knowing people — and even more, the power of people getting to know me.
When I was younger, I used to hear this line from MLM talks or from this orang bijak:
“Your net worth is your network.”
Alright, it rhymes and kind of makes sense. At the time, I just felt pressured 🙄 — because hey, the person standing in front saying that must be right, RIGHT?
But now, with everything changing in work and life, I’m reflecting again. Looking back, yes — the people I know, and the people who know me, do matter.
For example, during tough times at work — like when I had my newborn or was rushing to meet a customer deadline — people stepped in to help me out.
They didn’t have to. They could’ve just let me “die” (not literally). But they didn’t.
So, what made them help me?
That got me thinking — networking isn’t just about who you know. It’s also about who knows you. And more importantly, it’s about the value you’ve given to those relationships along the way.
Here’s what I’ve been reflecting on about networking this week:
- Spend time with people who align with your domain (Where I want to grow) and goals (What I want to get)
- Don’t just connect — contribute. Big or small, find ways to add value, help out, or just be a fun and reliable friend.
- Networking isn’t just about net worth. It’s about the purpose of being human — we can only do so much alone, and it’s way more fun doing life with people we love.
- Start small and be intentional. Be aware of the value you bring to your network — and vice versa.
That’s all for this week. I’m going to keep growing my network, and I appreciate you for being part of it.
You know what I’m good at — if there’s anything I can help with, I’m here for you!
Quote I’m pondering
To UNDERSTAND something, you need knowledge, but to FEEL it, you need experience.
