What I am reflecting?
What would this look like if it were fun?
This is one important question mentioned by Ali Abdaal in his book Feel Good Productivity.
This week, I was reminded of the word “fun.” Fun has always been important in my life—it’s the reason I earn a living, make friends, and go on vacations.
Because it’s fun.
Why did this come up again?
As I was brainstorming an idea for my next YouTube content, I found myself overthinking—what should I say? What would truly make an impact on my audience?
For the past few videos, I sounded like an AI avatar—reading a script written on my PC, hoping it would come across as more professional.
Yet I spent endless hours editing those videos, because they just didn’t feel good enough.
This week, I made one simple change: I decided to have fun recording my video.
So instead, I took a casual morning walk while talking to an AI chatbot, bouncing around ideas for my YouTube video.
At that moment, this is my prompt to the AI,
“I’m creating YouTube content around the idea of how to use mindfulness techniques to gain clarity in life. Please ask me questions that help me reflect more deeply on the points I want to share.”
After just a 30-minute walk, I not only had all the key points in my notes—I had already rehearsed them in my mind. As a result, I recorded the video effortlessly and actually had fun doing it.
The fun came from the energy of enthusiasm. I enjoyed the flow and played around with my voice and hand gestures.
I’m super happy with the result. Not just because of how the video turned out, but because the process of recording it in that state of fun and flow was genuinely enjoyable. And I believe that sense of fun projected itself through my work and actions.
So, now I leave you with this question:
