What I am reflecting?
What Would This Look Like If It Was Fun?
This week, for some reason, I’ve been thinking a lot about progress and growth.
I remember way, way, way back when my son was younger — around one year old. Most of his human skills were still developing.
That meant when I saw him standing, his stance wasn’t firm and he would often fall. When I saw him trying to communicate, he’d go, “ar… ba… ba…” — the usual baby sounds.
It was hilarious sometimes watching him walk — so clumsy, yet so adorable.
Yet, he persisted. He kept trying. Without any shame, smiling all the way while doing something I call learning.
What astonished me most was the moment I noticed his intelligence starting to bloom. Literally overnight — within 24 hours — he suddenly became like a superhuman (in baby terms), so much better at speaking. He now speaks at least 3 words, with perfect sense to the meaning to the context.
In scientific terms, I call it exponential growth. It’s truly amazing to witness such a phenomenon.
At that moment, I was so grateful he had learned. I congratulated him for putting in the effort — trying, trying, and trying again to hone his skills.
Today’s reflection brings me back to how this connects with life. Sometimes, you might feel like you’re not making progress. It feels like you’re stuck in the same spot.
But is that really true?
I want to challenge you to look back on your life — way, way back — at those moments when your accomplishments seemed like “overnight successes.”
The point I want to make is this: your success and achievements are part of a process. Just like my son, your growth might one day appear as an overnight flip.
Sometimes, all it takes is patience. Keep doing your best. Enjoy what you do. Because those consistent efforts will one day flip — and become your “overnight success.” It takes one moment, one pivot point, one opportunity. That’s going to make you 10x better than today.
Since you’re already living this life — what would success look like if it was fun?
And what could you focus on now to make the journey more enjoyable?
I hope this gives you a meaningful reflection on growth and progress.
