Finding Calm

What I am reflecting?

The feeling of relax and calm

Every human is unique in experiencing different emotions. You can be happy and you can be sad. At times, you might feel overwhelmed, worried, or stressed.

These few weeks have been crazy for me because of an urgent issue at work. I’ve been overwhelmed, focusing on solving the issue at hand while, at the same time, worrying about what is coming next.

During that time, I felt down, worried, and anxious—dwelling in the emotion of helplessness. It was then I tried to locate the emotion. It was lingering in the middle of my chest (the solar plexus area). The fresh air of the year end don’t smell the way it used to be years and years ago. The chirping of birds was singing a pretty sad melody. What showed up on the outside was the lack of energy and the laziness of thinking.

I was stuck.

At that moment, I realized one thing that would not change: if I kept feeling this way, it was going to drag me in. I wouldn’t be able to do well at work, and I wouldn’t be able to progress.

Then my wife walked over to me and said, “It will take time, and things take time to get better.” At that time, I felt so grateful to have a supportive wife. She is here not just to support but to make me feel understood.

As time passed, one thing became clear: if I don’t change and I don’t act, whatever is happening will stay the same. No progress, and I’ll remain stuck.

Right now, while writing this, I still feel the residual sense of overwhelm and hopelessness. I guess it’s alright—it serves as a signal that I might need to do things differently.

I believe better days will come, and I’m looking forward to taking action toward a better future.

The reason I’m sharing this story this week is because sometimes you may look at me and see someone cheerful on the outside. Despite me educating people about resilience, I do have my down times. I hope this sharing resonates with you at some point—whether in your future or your past.

Now, reflect and ask yourself:

“What is important today?”

“What matters to you 10 years from now? What are you going to change?”

Alright. I’m gearing up for the coming weeks and 2026 with great hope, finding the things that matter most to me.

You too have a great weekend!

Quote I’m pondering

It too shall pass.

Affirmation I used

It is getting better and better (quoted from my wife’s message).
