What I am reflecting?
My journey of Parenting
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a better father. For me, it’s not just about teaching my kids what’s right or wrong — it’s about learning the skills to really connect with them.
I’m still figuring out how to communicate better, be more present, stay calm, and act with the right intentions. Being a parent takes both attention and intention, and honestly, that’s something I’m still learning every day.
There are times when my kids’ behavior changes, and it challenges me in ways I didn’t expect. Sometimes I get frustrated because it feels out of my control.
Other times, I feel held hostage by all the demands around me. But then there are those moments when they behave kindly or help out, and I see glimpses of growth — in them and in me.
Those little moments remind me why this journey matters so much.
Parenting, I realize, is an ongoing journey. I don’t think I have the answers yet, but I’m slowly learning that it’s a process — one that’s full of both struggles and small victories.
Some days, I hate how tough it feels; other days, I actually enjoy seeing how the challenges help me grow. I just hope my kids not only learn from what I say but also from what they see — from watching me try, fail, and keep going.
Maybe that’s how they’ll learn patience, resilience, and kindness too.
The reason I’m sharing this is because I think many of us are trying to be better in different aspects of our lives.
Whatever your journey looks like — whether it’s parenting, career, or just personal growth — don’t give up. Do your best, trust yourself, and find joy in the process.
Life’s not meant to be perfect; it’s meant to be colorful, with all the mixed emotions that come with it.
I hope this resonates with you in some way.
Quote I’m pondering
“Look in the direction of where you want to be, and speak in the direction of where you want to be, and never again look back over your shoulder about where you have come from.” – Esther and Jerry Hicks
