What I am reflecting?
I was feeling a bit sick this week.
Last week, I had a sore throat. I told my wife, “I’ll just take whatever medicine the doctor gives.” It was because that week was full of back-to-back presentations for me. So, that was my decision.
I got better and better as the week progressed. Eventually, I recovered over the weekend.
However, on Tuesday, I felt a bit of discomfort in my throat again. It wasn’t pain, it wasn’t strep. It just felt weird. I decided to drink more water and take vitamins to help it recover.
And here I am now, writing the newsletter you’re reading.
This week made me reflect on pain and illness.
Getting sick feels like fixing a broken roof. When it’s raining, there’s a great urgency to repair it. But when it’s sunny, the fix doesn’t feel necessary.
“It’ll be fine. Let’s do it another day.”
This week’s incident reminded me to take better care of myself—exercise right, sleep right, and eat right. Alright, that’s programmed into my mind now.
The other thing is that recovery takes time, and I’m grateful for the sunny days. Because they remind me of all the things I can do when I’m fully healthy.
The moral of the story is: I’ll take good care of myself—for all of you. And I believe you will too.
Take care!
