What I am reflecting?
What It Takes for Me to Be GRIT-ty
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been learning something new—the concept of building readiness to change. It’s an interesting topic because change is something that will happen whether I like it or not, right?
It’s pleasant when it’s the change that I want. And unpleasant when it’s not what I want.
What really struck me in this learning is that in order to have a “change-ready culture,” it’s actually something learnable and actionable. That felt like really good news.
That means I have hope—to cultivate more opportunities for myself to be successful in change.
To adapt to change, it was mentioned that there are these areas to be developed:
- GRIT
- Mental Flexibility
- Mindset
- Resilience
- Unlearn
What stood out to me the most is GRIT. And honestly, it made me ask myself—how gritty am I?
There’s that famous book by Angela Duckworth, GRIT. She explains it really well. What I appreciate is how simple the concept actually is.
Grit needs consistency in these three critical components.
First, high passion. That means having a deep interest in the topic or content. And yes, I do have that passion—especially for things like helping people, creating change in myself, and supporting people around me. Whether it’s through my YouTube channel, my writing, or teaching, or even opportunities to share and coach.
Second, a high level of perseverance. This is somewhat true for me. I do engage in many of these activities—learning, doing, contributing. I’d easily give myself an 8/10 here.
And then finally, long-term goals and staying on course. This… this is the part that struck me the most.
When I look at this, I realize I’m kind of all over the place. It feels like I’m a jack of all trades and master of none.
That hit me because I realized that grit isn’t just about passion and effort. There’s also this important part about staying on course with a goal for the long term.
And because of that, it really reinforced a thought I’ve been having—that I need more CLARITY. Interestingly, this word has come up a few times from my mentor and coach just this week.
Maybe there’s truth in the idea that less is more.
This has been a big realization for me around grit, and I’ve been sitting with this and meditating on it for weeks.
I’m really grateful to Ken for sharing this knowledge with me through his teaching.
And as you’re reading this, it might apply to you—or maybe it doesn’t. But it could still be helpful to pause and give yourself a score.
How are you really doing with your goals?
And which components do you feel you’re lacking in, or would like to build?
Book I’m Reading
It has been a few weeks since I started reading this book by Noah Kagan—and I’ve already read it three times.

I’m recommending this book to you if you’d like to learn how you can start a systematic business over the weekend.
And I have a question for you—feel free to reply back to me.
What is the one BUSINESS that you would suggest that I can start now?
Affirmation I used
Opportunities and advantages come with every door that I open.
