The moment of creating memories
As a passionate photographer, I sometimes care a lot about the quality of the photos I take. Lately, I’ve been thinking of upgrading my 15-year-old camera.
As time passed, I went to check on it in the mall and on Shopee. I also checked reviews on YouTube, making sure I’m making the right choice.
Just now, as I’m looking at the pictures that I’ve taken today in my camera, I saw my daughter, folding her t-shirt. That was her new outfit that she bought for Chinese New Year.
In that moment, I felt the sparkle in my heart. In my mind, I asked myself, what a wonderful moment—watching her growing up so much. I asked myself, would I lose this moment if I don’t capture it in my camera.
Actually, not. The enjoyment is in the moment itself. At that moment, magically, I felt how beautiful it was that she has grown up so much. How much she had been able to reason, making bitter and sweet moments together.
I truly appreciate these moments with all of them. From that moment onwards, I know that having pictures of them is important if not more important to being together with them.
However, what’s even more important is the intention and awareness of living in the present moment.
Alright, she’s here now (while I’m writing this last night), reminding me to go over and accompany her to sleep.
