The Hardest Part of Parenting

What I am reflecting?

Doing my best!

Sometimes people say that it’s not easy to give birth to a child. As time goes on, I’ve realized that raising one is even harder.

Lately, I’ve been feeling frustrated and disappointed with my son’s behavior.

He doesn’t always act as I expected. For example, during dinner, he sometimes says he doesn’t like the food we prepared, insisting on something else instead. In those moments, I can sense his frustration—and even his attempt to control us.

There are times when I feel helpless, like nothing I do can change his behavior. It’s irritating and discouraging.

My mom, too, gets frustrated with his underperformance, and that adds to the pressure. It leaves me stuck in the middle—unsure what to do and feeling a little hopeless.

But I’ve come to realize that I need to be stricter and more focused in what I do. I must continue to show the right example, to be a good role model, and move forward. This journey is truly a learning process—an adventure for all of us.

I believe I can do my best to instill good behavior, values, and principles in my son, while also managing my emotions and strengthening my inner energy and focus.

The journey may not be easy, but when I look back, raising him through each stage—from one year old to now—has always been challenging, yet I’ve grown with it.

And I know I’ll continue to get better as time goes on.

The reason I’m sharing this story is because you might not face the same situation, but the message is the same: never give up. Keep doing your best, and reach out for help when you need it.

Since it’s still Chinese New Year, I wish you a very Happy New Year.

May you find peace, strength, and focus in your life as well.
